Hi, I’m Laura…
a Colorado native, family fueled, travel-loving dreamer. I love people (and animals, but we’ll get to that late) and never leave a session without a new friend. If I am not in the mountains, I am finding the nearest Starbucks and begging my husband for baby animals.
My husband and I have 2 kids and 3 dogs (yes! 3!) and a cat (however, still no goat, much to my dismay). And, after 10 years in Madison, WI we are thrilled that the stars aligned and we’re back home in Northern Colorado!
I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and a background in ABA therapy. When my daughter was born my passion for photography was reignited. I love the power of photography and the ability it has to evoke emotions, all while documenting the most cherished times together. As a parent, I know those tiny details and moments are fleeting. I don’t know about you, but I want to remember every little thing, and photographs make those snippets of time last forever.
Let me start off by saying that working with individuals with Autism and other special needs is something near and dear to my heart. I had the honor of working as an in home ABA therapist for children with Autism for 4 years. Some of my most cherished memories were made with those amazing children and their superhero parents.
I understand the challenges parents and families with special needs face. I am committed to providing everyone, no matter their challenges, with photos they love and cherish. I know that sometimes working with those with special needs takes a little extra understanding, flexibility and patience. It also takes passion and a heart for this work. You can see more about my Autism Awareness photo project here. My Autism Awareness photo project was featured on the local news and you can see it here.
I am currently affiliated with Spectrum Inspired, an incredible community. Please checkout their website here if you are interested in a session or contact me so we can talk further.
If you are interested in a session, make sure to discuss my discounted rates for special needs families. I look forward to hearing from you!
It can be lonely go at this small business thing alone. With a never ending shortage of beautiful work flooding our feeds it can be easy to feel isolated or like we aren't good enough. So let's stop there for a second. There is space for all of us and most importantly YOU have a place. You have been created to see things and experience things in a way that is unique to you. Let's nurture that.
